MyVest is among the most diverse companies in the fintech space, with a team that’s 30% female and 52% people of color. Management at all levels is 32% female and 52% people of color. And while the average tech company can have disproportionately low numbers of women in executive roles, 33% of our executive team is female, including our CTO and VP of Engineering.

The MyVest team represents a rich tapestry of cultures from around the world, many of whom are first-generation Americans representing countries like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Taiwan, Ukraine, the Philippines, and South Africa.

We appreciate and celebrate the cultural differences of our team, incorporating cultural celebrations from around the world. The highlight of which is our autumn Diwali celebration, the Hindu festival of lights, signifying the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Each autumn we look forward to our Indian team members sharing their food, ceremonial dress and decor, and cultural heritage. (We’re still full from this year’s incredible Indian buffet.)

And we are proud that every June we have many team members who participate in the numerous LGBTQ Pride events hosted around San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. We feel very lucky to work in such a diverse and open-minded part of the country!

The diversity of our team reinforces a collaborative environment with respect for different viewpoints. Processes and product also benefit from perspectives across generational lines, with a team of 38% Millennials, 52% Gen X, and 10% Baby Boomers.

When candidates interview with us, they don’t just meet with a panel of homogeneous men; they may interview with a female engineering manager, or a platform architect who was born outside the US. As a team member develops, they are mentored by diverse talent from a variety of national origins, genders, sexual orientations, ages, and professional experiences.

Not only do we deeply value our diverse workforce, but here at MyVest we take it one step further with a strong commitment to equal pay for all team members. In addition to internal practices to ensure unbiased pay, we also participate in Glassdoor’s Equal Pay Pledge, which promises equal pay for equal work and experience across gender lines.
